What paint correction can and cannot fix
Polishing removes a very thin layer of clear coat to level out swirl marks, light scratches and oxidation. It can make a big difference on paint that looks tired. Scratches that catch a fingernail are usually through the clear coat, and polishing can soften them but not remove them. We look at the paint with you first and set honest expectations.
Wax or sealant?
Wax gives a warm shine and lasts a shorter time. A synthetic paint sealant lasts longer and holds up better to road salt and harsh weather. For Central PA winters we usually suggest a sealant applied in the fall. Either way, protected paint is easier to wash and resists bird droppings, sap and salt.
Why not the automatic car wash?
Brush washes and dirty wash mitts drag grit across the paint and are a major source of swirl marks. A careful hand wash and clean drying towels keep paint looking good longer after a correction.

How often should I have my car waxed or sealed?
Wax typically needs renewing every few months. Sealants last longer. Before winter and again in spring is a good rhythm for most drivers here.
Will polishing remove all scratches?
It removes or reduces swirls and light scratches in the clear coat. Deeper scratches can be improved but may still be visible.
